Amerikaanse avant-garde in Amsterdam: op uitnodiging van de vakgroep Engels van de Universiteit van Amsterdam lezen dichters Christian Hawkey en Rachel Levitsky op 10 augustus uit hun werk. Hawkey en Levitsky zijn de oprichters van The Office of Recuperative Strategies (OoRS). “A glamorous underground cult that is here to abduct you”:

The Office of Recuperative Strategies (OoRS). OoRS is a mobile research laboratory that explores new tactics to promote the reuse, perversification, reanimation, and reparation of precarious, outmoded, and correctable cultural phenomena. OoRS seeks to develop language, architecture, and poetic strategies (associational thought, close-observation, dissonance, ambiguity, urban wandering, generative slippage) that intervene in and repurpose the brutality of technocapitalism’s obsession with speed, efficiency, able-bodiedness, originality, and novelty.

Christian Hawkey was in 2010 te gast op Poetry International. Rachel Levitsky droeg voor in de Holloway Series van de University of California Berkeley: de opname staat op Youtube.
